At least two people were killed and up to 17 people injured after shots were fired in the parking lot of a Florida nightclub, police stated.

Gunfire erupted outside the Club Blu Bar and Grill in Fort Myers around 12:30 a.m. Monday, according to multiple reports. Officers arrived at the parking lot on Evans Avenue to find several victims suffering from gunshot wounds, NBC 2 News reported. The injuries ranged from minor to life threatening.

Some of the injured were transported to area hospitals by Lee County Emergency Medical Services. Others made their own way to receive treatment.

Lt. Jim Mulligan of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office told the local CBS affiliate WINK-TV that the club had been hosting a “teen night” themed party.

However, the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remained unclear.

Two other scenes were connected to the incident, police said. One occurred at a nearby home, where the property and a vehicle were reportedly shot at, resulting in one person suffering a minor injury. The second scene was on Ortiz Avenue, where police said an unidentified “person of interest” had been detained.
