A police officer and several bystanders were hailed as heroes for rescuing a man trapped in a burning SUV in Anchorage on Sunday.
Dashcam video released by the Anchorage Police Department showed officer Mitchel Veenstra arrive at the scene of the accident, where the sole occupant of an SUV was trapped under the overturned vehicle, the department said on YouTube.
Veenstra and two bystanders tried to push the car off the pinned man, but were unable to do so on their own. That's when the officer called on others nearby to help.
