A Muslim man on his way to prayer services was attacked outside of a mosque in Houston, Texas, early Sunday morning, ABC 13 reported.
A spokesperson for the mosque told ABC 13 that the victim was a doctor.
"It is very scary right now given the current political climate," said the spokesperson, Mohammed Imaduddin.
Hate crimes and threats against Muslims have increased in the months following presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump's vow to ban members of the religion, numbering around 1.6 billion worldwide, from entering the U.S.
