An argument over a lit cigarette at a Pennsylvania gas station ended with one driver drenched in gasoline and another facing charges, police say.
Police say that Kimberly Brinton, 51, turned the nozzle on another Mehoopany Dandy Mart customer who told her to extinguish her cigarette while she fueled her vehicle on the afternoon of June 30, the Associated Press reports.
Police say that Tami Donovan threw windshield cleaner at Brinton in an attempt to put out the cigarette, FOX 8 reports.
When Donovan tried to drive away, Brinton sprayed gasoline at her, according to authorities.
“She could have set the place on fire, could have hurt people. I don’t know what they got her for but she’s nuts,” one local, Dave Middaurgh, told ABC affiliate WNEP.
Police said that Donovan slipped on gasoline as she hurried away and broke her arm.
Brinton is scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on July 12 to face charges including aggravated assault.
